From seed to home: how Under the Nile is made

Under the Nile began in 1998 with a mother who wanted clothes free of harsh chemicals for her daughters. She found her answer at SEKEM, the Egyptian pioneer of biodynamic farming founded in 1977. Today the brand is fully in SEKEM's hands.

The journey

  • Grown — organic cotton on SEKEM's farms in Egypt (USDA Organic).
  • Made — knitted, dyed and sewn by NatureTex, SEKEM's GOTS-certified textile company.
  • Fair — SEKEM Group is Fairtrade certified (FLO ID 26849).
  • Packed — in FSC-certified paper packaging.

The 13 Villages Project

Our fruit & veggie toys are hand-sewn by women in 13 villages in Sharkeya from organic cotton scraps.
